Passé Composé Project
Learning Goal: The students will be able to describe events in the past using the passé composé. The
students will write a sentences that tells a story in French.
What: Students will write a story of 10+ sentences to tell a story in French. Students will follow the
requirements of the rubric. Then, final draft will be either a PowerPoint presentation or a booklet. Time
will be provided in class to write the sentences, peer edit and revise their work. Students may bring their
own technology to use to work on their project. This story may be a true story or made up. It MUST be
school appropriate.

Rough Draft ________
After the rough draft process, students will put their story into book format for the final draft. Every
page of the book or slide of the PowerPoint will be one or two sentences. Each slide or page will have a
picture or image to accompany the story. The students will present the stories to the class.
Warning: The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate your ability to use the French language using
the vocabulary and grammar we have learned in class. Use the textbook or your notes to look up words
or ask Madame Mac. THE USE OF GOOGLE TRANSLATE OR ANY ONLINE TRANSLATOR WILL RESULT IN
A ZERO AND THE POSSIBILITY OF FAILING QUARTER TWO. We don’t want that, correct? So if and when
you need help, ASK Mme. Mac!

The Final Draft may either be a handwritten, drawn book (supplied will be provided in class or a typed
Presentation. Prezi is not recommended because it will not print out. You must turn in a hard copy on
the due date. The illustrations may be hand-drawn, cut out images or clip art.
Absent or late work is not acceptable as plenty of time will be given in class. Please email
Irvinemcnamara.b[email protected]om if you are absent. Students are permitted to video their
presentations and post them to YouTube if they would like. The video link must still be sent to Madame
Mac by the final due date. Even if you use a video for the presentation, a hard copy must be turned in.
THIS PROJECT WILL BE YOUR FINAL WRITING PROJECT FOR SEMESTER 1!
